Drop

I give thanks for a pair of magpies in each of a pair of trees outside my kitchen window. Two lots of joy or a boy? Either or both will do... But maybe not tonight. Tonight I'm fit to drop!

I give thanks for being fit enough to help drop fairly heavy and unwieldy items at the recycling centre earlier...after two trips carrying some of them down my stairs as well. For most of this with my back completely forgetting it had anything wrong with it at all! I give thanks for Mima's magic car seat helping mend me when it remembered. I give thanks though it's not the time for me to move out of here, there is much satisfaction and sense of progress in moving out some of the stuff I don't want to take with me.

I give thanks we weren't out in the most torrential part of the rain, though seeing it from inside was quite spectacular. For tea and quite acceptable cake on the way back somewhere I thought I didn't like but which has changed a lot in the intervening years...

I give thanks for safe driving in poor visibility. For not needing to go anywhere by train as it seems there won't be any tonight, For not having a power cut as some folk round here have been without electricity as well...

I give thanks for a package in the communal hall when I came back...plus an email saying one had been successfully delivered. Only the delivered one wasn't the one in the email - that was nowhere to be seen. Frustrating, but only average as far as life's tangled tapestry goes... Until I opened the parcel and found the invoice/packing note was from another order from another company again. Then, I made a cup of tea and rested my brain awhile. I give thanks I'm used to living in a slightly alternatively arranged universe...as long as I can arrange some food and a bath the rest of it can wait!
