Today first of all I give thanks for the miracle of love in all its myriad forms. Family love, of course... the warts and all enduring devotion between parents and offspring and pangenerational bonds beyond. Uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and second cousins that form firm friendships beginning from blood ties but burgeoning into something more. Siblings that overcome bickering and rivalry to become true brothers and sisters forever. And love that 'marries in' and enriches further...all the step everybodies that bring extra opportunities to know and appreciate and care. Best mates that are there with you in good times and in bad, and lovers that love each other body mind and heart and soul.
It has not been my fate to know the reciprocated versions of these marvellous things but I've felt them one way if not the other and have had a glimpse of the glory that they are and am grateful the worlds we know and beyond contain them and others experience their joy.
Your words are so true.... i have come to think since getting this cancer that most of the people i thought of as family are a load of ....
